If your garage door is broken in The Meadows, call 780-908-0907. We repair springs, cables, rollers, tracks, sensors and openers in Larkspur, Silver Berry, Wild Rose, Tamarack, Laurel, Maple and Aster, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We come to you from our shop on Chappelle Rd. SW in Edmonton. A service call and diagnosis typically costs $90 to $130 plus GST, and you approve the written price before we start.
A broken spring or cable can drop the door without warning. If you heard a loud bang, the door will not lift or a cable is hanging loose, stop using the door. Do not pull on it, do not use the red release handle with the door open and do not try to fix it yourself. Keep people, pets and vehicles clear and call us.
The Meadows is a district in southeast Edmonton between Whitemud Drive, 34 Street and Anthony Henday Drive. It is made up of seven neighbourhoods that were planned over about 30 years, so the garage doors here range from fairly old to almost new. These are the problems we see most:
Our general garage door repair service covers the rest.
The City of Edmonton adopted a plan for each Meadows neighbourhood in a different year. Homes were built in the years after, so the plan year gives you a rough idea of how old your door could be. This table is a guide, not a guarantee:
| Neighbourhood | Plan adopted | How old the oldest doors may be | What often needs attention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Larkspur | 1987 | About 30 to 38 years | Springs, cables, rollers, openers |
| Silver Berry | 1994 | About 25 to 31 years | Springs, rollers, opener motor or board |
| Wild Rose | 1998 | About 20 to 27 years | Springs, rollers, remotes and keypads |
| Tamarack | 2006 | Up to about 19 years | Springs, sensors, seals |
| Laurel | 2007 | Up to about 18 years | Springs, sensors, seals |
| Maple | 2010 | Up to about 15 years | Sensors, seals, first spring |
| Aster | 2016 | Up to about 9 years | Sensors, seals, lubrication |
Tamarack and Laurel are still being built, so some doors there are newer than the table suggests. A door that has had its springs replaced is newer than the house. If you are not sure what is original, we check on the visit.
A standard spring is rated for about 10,000 cycles. One cycle is one full open and close. This table shows how long that lasts:
| Cycles per day | About how long 10,000 cycles last |
|---|---|
| 3 | 9 years |
| 4 | 7 years |
| 6 | 4.5 years |
| 8 | 3.5 years |
If several people use the door, or you use the garage as the main entrance, you may reach the rating sooner. Some springs are made for more cycles and cost more. Ask us for the cycle rating and the price of the option, so you can compare it with a standard spring. If one spring breaks, replace both. See spring replacement.
Remotes, keypads and sensors cause many opener calls, and some of them are quick to fix. Try this first:
If it keeps happening, the receiver or the circuit board may be failing. We can tell you whether the opener is worth repairing. See opener repair and installation and sensor repair.
We serve all of The Meadows, including:
Mill Woods, across 34 Street, has its own page: Mill Woods. So does Ellerslie: Ellerslie. If your street is not listed, call us and we will tell you if we can come.
Our shop is on Chappelle Rd. SW, and The Meadows is in southeast Edmonton, so the drive depends on the time of day, traffic and the weather. We do not promise a time we cannot keep. When you call, we give you an arrival window for your address. Doors that are stuck open, off the track or hanging on a loose cable come first.
For a repair that is not urgent, book early in the day. See our same-day garage door repair page for how same-day booking works and our emergency garage door repair page for after-hours calls. For regular checks, see our garage door maintenance service.
These are typical prices for the Edmonton area, plus GST. We confirm your exact price in writing before we start.

It depends on the neighbourhood. The City adopted plans for Larkspur in 1987, Silver Berry in 1994, Wild Rose in 1998, Tamarack in 2006, Laurel in 2007, Maple in 2010 and Aster in 2016. Homes were built in the years after, so doors range from under 10 to nearly 40 years old.
Yes. We serve all seven Meadows neighbourhoods: Larkspur, Silver Berry, Wild Rose, Tamarack, Laurel, Maple and Aster. Call us with your address and we will give you an arrival window.
It can be, if the door is used a lot. A standard spring is rated for about 10,000 cycles, which is about 3.5 years at eight cycles a day. A higher-cycle spring lasts longer but costs more. Ask us for the rating and price of the option and compare.
Doors are used many times a day, so parts wear even in a newer home. Sensors get knocked out of line, seals crack and springs reach their rating sooner on a busy door. If the home is still under a builder warranty, check that first.
Yes, we recommend it. Both springs have been through the same number of cycles, so if one has broken, the other is usually close behind. Replacing both also keeps the door balanced.
No. Springs and cables are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury. If you heard a bang, the door will not lift or a cable is loose, stop using the door and call us.
Tell us what your door is doing and we will tell you what we need and how fast we can be there. Call 780-908-0907 or request a quote. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
